Aboriginal Acknowledgement

Acknowledgement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples

We honour the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their enduring care for Country—the lands, waters, and skies that have always been theirs. We acknowledge their families and kin across all directions, holding deep respect for their ancestors and Elders, past and present.

We walk softly, listening, observing, and learning.

We recognise that the knowledge shared by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples continues to guide us, and that the wisdom of Country teaches us through its seasons. We understand that the climate crisis is entwined with colonialism and that our collective responsibility is to heal and decolonise, both within ourselves and in our work.

We give thanks to all who came before us—those who protected, nurtured, and fought for justice. We commit to uplifting the voices of those most affected by climate change: First Nations peoples, women, people of colour, LGBTQIA+ communities, those living in poverty, and many others.

Together, we strive for a just and compassionate future where the dignity of all is upheld, and Country is honoured.
